Cape Cod Wellfleet Rental
Beaches
Cahoon Hollow and (another?) (ocean), names of (bay beaches), Gull and Longnook Ponds (lake swimming and boating).

Activities
Wellfleet Harbor, with its marina, big pier and the fleet's lobster and oyster boats, is about a mile from the house, a bike ride for adolescents or younger kids accompanied by adults. Fish or go crabbing from the pier, shop for crafts, curios, eat lobster or soft ice cream. Don't miss the delectable Wellfleet oysters, raw or deep fried! Along the harbor road, top-notch galleries and the shops of master craftsmen alternate with colonial-style private homes and B&B's.

Wellfleet Theater does summer stock with professional productions of both Eugene O'Neill and lighter fare. The gently sloping bay beach offers long, lazy days of sunbathing, sandcastling and shell (and even oyster) hunting for little ones. Public tennis courts and a play park are just across the street.

Along the shore road in the other direction, just a mile or two from home, lies the quiet wilderness of Great Island and Duck Harbor in the National Seashore.

In town
Wellfleet shops offer great seafood and produce, emergency supplies, fudge, and "penny" candy, and hours of exploration. Local dances, bake sales at Town Hall. Post office in town.

Nearby on Rte. 6
Supermarket (name?), jams & jellies, lobster houses, gas stations, marine supplies, motels, more restaurants, miniature golf, more galleries, and (whoopee!) drive-in movies.

North on Rte. 6 are only Truro, Provincetown and the broad and inviting expanse of the National Seashore, with hike/bike/horseback trails (rentals available) and dunes to climb.
